As 2018 draws to a close, we’ve been reflecting on what this year has been like for FryerMiles – what we’ve achieved, what obstacles we’ve encountered, and more importantly, how we’ve overcome them.
Candidate-led Market
By far the biggest challenge facing recruiters in our industry this year has been the continued trend of a “candidate-led” market.
The best candidates in the active market are securing numerous interviews and potentially enjoying their pick of offers as a consequence.
The shift to a saturated market started several years ago and it looks like it’s here to stay for 2019 and beyond.
Thriving in the current market
The team here are experienced at working through the changing market and are well placed to help clients that need a professional, knowledgeable recruitment partner. We endeavour to build long term client relationships, helping them to retain the best people as well as attract the best new recruits into their business.
As a result, despite the current trend within the sector, FryerMiles has had an incredible year. We’ve celebrated our first birthday, hired new staff members, moved to a larger office premises, and surpassed all of our targets for the year.
The candidate experience is key
We honestly believe that the experience we provide to our candidates sets us apart in the market. We work incredibly hard to get to know them; their needs, motivations, personality and skillset – this puts us in a unique position to naturally place them with clients that have a business, ethos and culture that complements them perfectly.
Because of this, we have built a pool of loyal talent and avoid a “scatter gun” approach to sending CVs or vacancies – so when our clients’ needs arise, we are ready.
By providing a fantastic end-to-end experience for our candidates and building strong relationships, we ensure we place the right people in the right roles, first time.
Looking ahead to 2019
If 2018 is anything to go by, we couldn’t be more excited about 2019!
We’ve already got courageous plans in place to continue on our growth trajectory, hiring more incredible talent into the FryerMiles family. We fully anticipate that we’ll have doubled, or even tripled, in size by the end of 2019 – watch this space!
