I started my career in Film and Television where I worked my way up from a Trainee to a Focus Puller within the Camera department. During this time I worked as a freelancer on well-known TV drama’s like Midsummer Murders, Silent Witness and Gavin and Stacey.
After almost 8 years I decided I wanted a more ‘stable’ career so I moved into sales…
I joined a multinational recruitment agency where I learnt my trade and after a year I was approached to build and grow the Interim and Contract desk for a smaller competitor. I spent almost 4 years there, winning highest biller for 3 years running, before being head-hunted for an opportunity I couldn’t say no to, in Dubai.
I spent my time starting up a Finance and Accountancy recruitment arm for a large multinational which gave me amazing insight into a variety of cultures and ways of working. I developed a number of key skills while working in the Middle East, perhaps the most important one was patience.
After 3 years in Dubai I decided to return to the UK and re-join my previous company. I headed up their interim division as one of the Associate Directors and was excited to bring my local knowledge and network, as well as my wealth of experience, to the team. I quickly got up to speed, managing a challenging and dynamic team, as well as becoming the highest biller in year 2, retaining that title into my 3rd and final year with the company.
With almost 14 years of experience, the natural next step was for me to start my own specialist recruitment business focusing on the niche Accountancy & Finance sector – where a majority of my experience was gained.
We have always taken pride in our candidate delivery, over and above our sales numbers, which has made us one of the most successful recruiters across the Thames Valley. The most rewarding part of my job is the amazing people I interact with on a daily basis and I’m delighted to now be building that group of talent within the FryerMiles network.
